Isolated showers in the northeast and far south, clearing from the afternoon. Dusting of snow on the alpine peaks above 1400 metres. Dry and sunny elsewhere. Daytime temperatures generally below average, tending well-below average in the west and about the southern ranges. South to southwesterly winds, tending west to southwesterly on the ranges and adjacent western slopes. Fresh south to southwesterly winds on the northeast coast, easing and tending south to southeasterly through the day.
