A tropical low embedded in a trough parallel to the North Queensland coastline is bringing thick mid level cloud with associated rain to the Queensland North Tropical Coast. An inland trough is present through Western Australia bringing patches of mid level cloud over inland parts of the state, with convective activity in the south west supported by an upper feature. A high pressure system in the southern Indian Ocean pushes low cloud onto the south west coast of Western Australia. A cold front has passed over Tasmania, pushing low to mid level cloud over Victoria and Tasmania in its wake. Much of the rest of the country remains cloud free.
