A thick band of cloud with widespread thunderstorm activity is over much of central and southeastern Australia. This is associated with an upper air disturbance to the west. Thunderstorm activity continues over the NT Top End, the Gulf of Carpentaria and Cape York. Moist onshore flow is pushing low cloud onto the east coast of Queensland. A high pressure system to the south of the mainland is bringing patchy low level cloud to large parts of southern and central WA, as well as coastal areas in SA, Victoria, and Tasmania. The rest of the country is mostly cloud free.
