A low pressure system lies well inland of Geraldton in Western Australia, bringing a thick spiralling pattern of cloud around the system. Mid to high level cloud persists over the central parts of Australia, adjacent to a trough spanning from the west to the eastern parts of the country. Scattered thunderstorms continue to the north of the trough. Moist onshore flow being driven by a high pressure ridge over the Eastern seaboard is producing spotty low to mid level cloud and the odd shower over much of the Queensland coast. Patchy low level cloud blankets much of the southeast with high cloud drifting east from the Bight.
