A thick band of low level cloud has developed along the New South Wales coast and eastern Victoria in the wake of cool change moving up the coast. A high pressure system in the Bass Strait extends a ridge through the interior of the continent keeping skies mostly clear. A westerly airstream to its south is driving cloud across Tasmania. Convective cloud is present over inland Western Australia associated with a heat trough. Low level cloud pushes onto the far north Queensland due to southeasterly flow. The rest of the country is mostly cloud free.
