A broad upper level trough with associated surface troughs has produced a band of mid to upper level cloud that stretches from the Pilbara/Gascoyne WA through the interior of the continent to the NSW central coast. A front approaching Tasmania has associated low to mid level cloud ahead of it, covering most of the state. A broad deck of low cloud across the southeast precedes the high that is centred in the Bight. Further patchy low cloud is being driven onto the east coast of Queensland due to onshore flow. The north of the country is relatively cloud free.
