Ex-Tropical Cyclone "Narelle" continues to move westward over the Kimberley region, bringing plenty of thick cloud cover to the area. Notable thunderstorm activity is embedded within this cloud, largely confined to the north kimberley coast. A trough extends out of this system, driving patches of mid cloud across much of the Top End. A band of thick low level cloud sweeps over central parts of the Northern Territory and across into Western Australia to the south of this system. A trough in the Coral Sea brings thick isolated storm clouds to the Cape York Peninsula. More broadly, thick low level cloud drift over northeastern Queensland, the result of moist onshore flow. Inland of the west coast, a heat trough and embedded low bring patchy low to mid level cloud to the Pilbara and Gascoyne regions of Western Australia. Similar cloud is present through much of South Australia, along with southern parts of the Northern Territory and across into the New South Wales border, the result of excess tropical moisture being dragged down over the country's interior. The southwestern corner of the country is blanketed in thick low level cloud as a cool moist airmass passes over the region. Much of eastern New South Wales is covered in patchy low level cloud, the result of moisture lingering about the ranges. An upper level disturbance passing through the SOuthern Ocean is obscuring much of Tasmania underneath a thick cloud band. Some wispier cloud extends out of this band and drifts over western Victoria. The rest of the country is mostly cloud free.
