A tropical low embedded in a trough parallel to the North Queensland coastline is bringing convective cloud with associated rain to the Queensland North Tropical Coast. A high pressure system in the Bight is creating moist onshore flow, pushing a blanket of low level cloud onto the southeast of the country. A large part of Western Australia is covered in convective cloud with embedded thunderstorms due to the formation of a low pressure surface feature inland. A cold front has passed over Tasmania, and low to mid level cloud flows over western parts of the state in its wake. Much of the rest of the country remains cloud free.
