Patches of high level cloud can be seen over the Cape York Peninsula, originating from Tropical Cyclone "Maila" located currently situated to the east of Papua New Guinea. An upper trough is producing a mid to upper level cloud band which stretches through interior parts of Western and South Australia, and down into the country's southeast. A stationary front in the Tasman Sea is associated with a band of thunderstorms. In the wake of the cold front, speckled low level cloud is being brought onshore of the coast of South Australia, Victoria, and Tasmania. A developing cold front west of Tasmania is enhancing the cloud at low to mid levels along with thunderstorm activity. A high pressure system to south of Western Australia is pushing a sheet of low level cloud onto the southern coast of the state. Patchy convective cloud can be seen through the northern half of the country.
